I have received receipt notice for my I-485. My AOS petition was received by J.Barrret at 10:25AM Nebraska Service Center. Later it got forwarded to TSC where my I-140 got approved few months before. Let me know if you have more questions...

What about people who were stuck for years in backlog and then got laid off and could not port their priority dates. I know a few who come came to US in 99 and now have a priority date of 2007 with a new employer....It should clearly be based on number of years of stay in US or expereince

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. I plan to take care of the Canada landing on the 4th of July. Will be in Canada for a week and spend some time with friends and family. Hopefully all goes smooth. I plan to re-enter on AP - will post my experience here.

I can gather 100+ people from Chicago..
Forget aboit other cities ,Here we are not able to get enough people in DC , which is having a decent community .If you planning to get 100 in chicago , can you make i to DC nbext weekend .

Hello Guys,
I filed on july 7th and still waiting.
My case little different, my 485 pending at Nebraska and I mailed EAD renewal at Texas (because I live in PA, per instructions in form).
Do you think my EAD will get stuck because of this? I hope I did right thing.
Is any one similar situation

We have thousands here. We take just 1000 people and if everyone contributes 100 dollars - its 100,000 dollars. Just an estimate for lawyer fees incase we get that far

Another warning. We will not tolerate flaming wars or denigrating posts.
Can't we work together civilly for this? The illegal aliens speak in one voice and are more easily heard. While immigrants who are supposed to be "highly educated" like us have to fight within ourselves over every issue.
If you find some bad post, report it to us by clicking on the exclamation mark symbol. Don't retort.
That's exactly what I was talking about. We are not going to have a law that will benefit all of us immediately, but could indirectly and also could take a while to see the effects of it. This does not mean that we try to stall such bills or exclaim that things are not fair as it does not benefit a certain group of people. We need to know that the law makers are at least smarter than all of us here and when they do things they do it with certain reasons and we need to respect that.
All of us also have to remember that though we might me in the top 10% of this countries intellectual communities we are still all foreigners here and we should of course lobby our cause (like IV is currently doing such a great job of) and leave the rest of the burden to the law makers. I am sure they too have people to answer to and what ever law they pass will have to justifiable.

Retrogressed all the way to 2000? Happened at the end of Q3 in the government calendar. Seem to me USCIS is laying the ground to assign all un-used visa number to indians in Q4. Just a guess....

I strongly believe none will be affected with this correct interpretation of EB dependents must not use ebquota.
What about EB applicants from non retrogressed countries/EB1? The primary gets GC in 6 months and the family will have to wait in FB quota?
